Not an Adorable Blog

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

I’ve been out browsing Mom blogs this morning while my little ones are still sleeping.  (Shhh!)  I ran across Baggage and Bug.  How adorable!  The blog design is adorable.  The content is adorable.  Baggage is a total stranger and I had to subscribe to her blog, because… it’s adorable!

What’s my point?

My blog is not adorable.  Not only is it not adorable, but it reads like I’ve been posting nothing but ads lately.  If it reads like that to you too, I’m sorry.  Actually, the posts are not all ads.  Some of this stuff is just plain recommendations for things that I have found helpful.  All I want to do is to be helpful.  (OK… That’s a lie.  A partial lie.  I need income too.  But I do want to be helpful!)

Can I be helpful and adorable too?  I don’t know.  I’m not sure I ever really fell into the “adorable” category.  Entertaining?  Yeah… I might be able to do that.  I’ll try.  Okay?

Personalized CDs For Children

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

“This is the bestest song ever!  I love it!” ~ Courtney, age 5

“Mom, Can we hear ‘Name Your Tune’ again?  It’s very fun!” ~ Dylan, age 7

These are the comments I heard from my children after they listened to their new copy of the Name Your Tune CD.      (By the way, I got quite a bit of work done while they happily sang and danced in the next room.)

Name Your Tune is an exciting new (and award-winning) children’s music compilation that is made-to-order and personalized for each child.  The child’s name is the feature part of every song making this CD all about them.  (Our version was personalized for both of my children, alternating names between songs.  They loved taking turns with their own songs.)

The songs are familiar and much-loved tunes for children, parents and grandparents and are a great way to learn and have fun together.  (Or get work done, as the case may be,  hee hee.)

Thank you Candace for sharing your precious CD with us.

For more information on the CD, visit http://www.nameyourtune.com.

SEO for your Blog

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

Thanks again to Holly Mann and her Honest Riches 2 ebook.  I now have a new Wordpress plugin installed on my blog to help with search engine optimization (SEO).  This plugin allows you to add your own chosen title, description and keyword meta tags to each blog entry.

Holly had the plugin created in October 2006  after ”searching endlessly” and couldn’t find a plugin with the features she wanted.  She offers it free to the public to use and it can be downloaded at http://www.cheekyo.com/SEOplugin/meta_editor_plugin.zip

Of course, if you need any help installing this plugin (or any others for that matter), just let me know.  My website maintenance fees are very reasonable.

Debt Management Talk

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

Do you have debt?  I know I do.

Imagine finding debt managment support combined with revenue building capabilities…

I found a debt management forum this morning that I’m very excited about.  It’s brand new, but I can already tell it is going to be a great place.  You can get together in a supportive environment to discuss your financial situation and get suggestions on how to reduce your debt.

AND in return for sharing your story, advice, etc, you can earn a percentage of the website’s Google Adsense ads!  When you’re in debt, every little bit helps, right?

I have signed up.  (And by sharing this forum with you, I’m indirectly sharing way too much of my personal situation too.  So, please respect my privacy and keep my identity there confidential.)

Here’s the link:  Debt Management Talk  Go check it out!
